We Make It?
Portland Is What We Make It is a rallying cry, a call to action to Portlanders, a love letter to the rose city. It is about investing in culture, engaging in the community, and celebrating all the things that make Portland a special place.
We are calling on people to do things in the spirit of this idea, big or small.
What’s your interpretation of Portland Is What We Make It? What will you do to express your love for this city?
It could be something you’re already doing - or something this movement inspires you to do.
Paint a mural, host a neighborhood clean-up, hold a fundraiser for a local organization in town, create a "rose city product" and sell it at your business, display the message on your marquee, write a love-letter to Portland and publish it, start a city-wide potluck, plant roses in potholes, start a petition, vote. Do something that makes people smile.
Portland has always been a place where people create community, art and change. There are many communities, organizations, people, businesses already starting or doing great things. Get involved.
